Good and cheap: Headset or vocal mic for stage?

Post by Machinate » Tue Nov 08, 2005 9:31 pm

Hi all... I'm looking for a cheap vocal solution for live / weird studio use, and it should either be a headset (preferred) or a kick-ass yet cheap vocal mic. I have a beat up old Shure sm-58 (the classic) and I hate it.

I need a headset to tweak shit while recording voice, but I would also be wearing headphones, so that needs to be possible as well. Think random/sucky beatboxing and processed voice ala Jamie Lidell live - that's what I'll be using it for, but also for some random video stuff.

There are some AKG/Shure headsets around the 140€ mark... would I be a moron to get one of those?

Rewards in the shape of eternal gratitude will be handed out at appropriate thank-you-shindig :D

cool. Have you tried it? It looks about right pricewise as well.

I have two of these, and have had great results using them on vocals, percussion and amplified guitar.
