Live + DJ Mixes

Post by LeonX » Thu Nov 10, 2005 9:06 pm

Hi,

Apologies if there are any threads in existance which explain what I am after, but I havnt found any from searching!

I want to try using Live to make mix CD's, using MP3's, rather like how many Dj's make their mix compilations now. I have been playing around with it for ages but cant seem to get the two tracks to sit in time, however much I try!

Please could someone tell me the exact steps to take when trying to use Live for this kind of thing?

Is there anything you need to do to the mp3's before importing them into Live, such as trimming off silent parts on the beginning & end?

And which steps do you take to actually get the tracks to stay perfectly in time?

Any other tips for making them sound ultra-professional would be much appreciated!

There are a lot of topics on this matter, but I'll tell you the two most important things:
1. Make sure the tracks are as close to the metronome as possible
2. Make sure that your first warp marker is in the same spot as your first beat
