split-stereo sd2 files

Post by Guest » Thu Jul 24, 2003 6:35 pm

I just bought Live today thinking it would read sd2 files. It does, but not the split-stereo files that PT and DP use. I was hoping that the .L/.R convention would be adopted. Oh well, 2.2 m'be?

Cant you record in AIFF or Wav to get around the problem?

Not in PT or DP. You can export interleaved files but neither record or play them.

It'd be nice to be able to raid a project file with Live to do a remix but you can only access one side of the stereo files at a time. Which means you'd have to open the DP/PT project and export the remix fodder for Live. ...not at all convenient.

I'm new to Live so maybe there is a way to use non-interleaved files. ...anyone?

2 tracks panned hard left and right. It's worked for me. Not ideal but functional.

Yes, I figured that out too. You can also bus those tracks to an aux for easier mixing.
