Just instaled 2.0.3 on my G4667 /1.5g ram. I am finding that my computer,s audio is cutting in and out every three or four loop times.I only had 4 bits of audio up at the time with ONE yes ONE plugin effect.
I have obviously not set something up right i have an 828 soundcard so my card is ok. Dose anyone know as i have a big gig in about 4 weeks and i need 2 get this sorted out
Am i being silly?
ouch!
Hope the gig goes well.
I have almost the exact configuration, and no problems.
(although i have only 512MB of RAM)
You may want to verify that the ASIO driver is in the right Live folder.
Or check the audio settings:
1. Device type ASIO
2. MOTU FireWire Audio
3. Buffer Size = 512 samples
4. Output Latency = 11 ms
5. Input Latency = 12 ms
6. Monitor through live = no
7. Sample rate = 44100
Although you may have some functional disagreement with the above settings, they work well for me so you may want to give it a try.
Also, you probably already checked, but make sure virtual memory is turned off.
As a test, also, you may want to try creating a RAM Disk and triggering your audio files from there. If you have drop outs you could have a hard drive performance problem.
(because live streams, i'll bet you could run into some pretty junky audio with a 5400 rpm ide drive. )
But while we're on the topic, how do you solve the problem of the gain levels on your 828? I try to run my outputs into a DJ mixer and their so quiet, i have to crank the gain.

you might experiment with a ram disk
marco,
since you have so much ram, why not experiment using live with a RAM disk, you'll get huge performance jumps. you can use the system ram disk, or get a shareware app called rambunctous. i can't be bothered to carry a second drive around, so this is a better way of speeding up disk access times.
