Do you want to just use the keys as triggers ( then it will OK) or play anything - in this case it is the worst choice, shit plastic, you will break them in no time.M audio is cheapo but this a cheapo of a cheapo Try before you buy. If you want to play get at least Edirol, Fatar or CME
.

Well fuck, should I just exchange my pro 88 for another one then?I want to play notes on my keyboard.

Are the mk-461c key's similar to that of a hardware synth( nord)? If not, what kind of keys do hardware synths usually have?

you should check out novation controllers. they cost a bit more, but many say they have the best feeling keys.

Novation has the nicest keys but a bit overpriced and max 61. CME 88 is the best deal at the moment, made by kurzweil factory. Edirols are OK. also Emu and Fatar. If you only have Evolution option then 88 M audio isway better, you sould at least select the piece yourself or be such pain that someone really selects one before sending to you.

My KP88 has treated me very well. It has been gigged quite heavily and genrally abused (read, loved). Everything on it still works just like it should. My only complaint is I havent figured out how to set the CC for the buttons. Right now all the buttons are on teh same CC and are pretty useless. I want buttons so bad! Anyone know a quick fix to get the buttons to work?

I've not looked at it much, but doesn't the Enigma editor allow you do make settings like this quite easily?

Assigning button CCs on Pro88

The last time I setup the controllers was 6 months ago... so I can't remember exactly what I did. I DO remember that the supplied software (Enigma) didn't work as advertised. I'd setup the CCs in Enigma, sysex it to the Pro88, and... no change :(

I ended up assigning them manually on the Pro88 itself. I just followed the instructions on p10 of the manual "Editing MIDI Controllers". That worked fine. Hope that helps.

Yeah, i have this m-audio radium 61...it came with a broken corner on the back, about 5 cm (1.9 inches) was missing. They gave me another one wich is working nice, so far.
Anyway, at the end you are getting what you've payd for, lousy keys and knobs, low quality components and plastics etc etc.

Enigma works fine here for changing cc, note #s etc on Trigger Finger. Maybe download and try again?
