I moved my computer into an ISOraxx and now i can't get live to do anything. At first it would turn off audio because of a problem with it. it's a PCI 324 running a 2408 and a 1296. The driver works fine for every other program. HMMM? Every time i would try to set the soundmanager default in the prefs it wouuld freeze.
I tried installing 2.1.1 and now i can't even get the program to open. How can i get this crap off of my machine so i can do a fresh install and see if Live will actually work once again? Or should i just scrap it land go back to acid?
corrupt audio driver, crash on open blah blah blah
Hi Fibes,
at first I don't see any relation between this error and the moving into the ISOraxx unless something hardware was damaged.
I don't know to which version the first part refers, I assume it's Live 2.0.3.
Because you said something of SoundManager you re probably on OS 9.
How is the SoundManager configuration? Whcih device it is using?
When you said it works fine with other programs, what are these other programs and do you use there als the SoundManager driver?
Beside that you should really use the ASIO driver instead of the SoundManager.
Concerning Live 2.1.1, what happens when you try to start it.
- Is it crashing?
- If yes, when, do you still see the startup screen?
- Do you get an error message?
regards,
Alex

None of the hardware was damaged. My Motu pci 324 is still working for digital performer, itunes, phrazer, peak etc.Alex wrote:Hi Fibes,

I'm on OS 9.2.2 and up until last night was using 2.0.3. After i moved the computer i swapped the MOTU 1296 and 2408 positions, that's it. I started getting error messages and when live was opened ausio was disabled. When i would go into the audio prefs soundmanager was the only choice (besides none)in the top of the menu and the lower one only allowed me to choose soundmanager default. Here's the rub; it would crash every time i would grab that pull down menu. ---I installed 3.1.1 and now i can't even get the program past the logo screen. It locks up every time.
How can I cleanly uninstall and reinstall? Sorry for my frustration but i spent too much time trying to get that other Mac program to work ditched it for Live because it was supposed to be cleaner to run and now i've got the Discovery channel waiting for product all because i moved my computer. It's as bizarre as it is frustrating.
