Syncing 2 laptops over external MIDI-unit

Hello everybody,

I want to synchronize 2 laptops over an external MIDI-unit. Here is my setup:

Roland MC 307 (master)
Laptop 1 (slave)
Laptop 2 (slave)

This works, provided that the Live projects on the laptop are already loaded. Afterwards I press play on the master and the two Lives run in sync.

Is there any possibility, that one of the Live projects is loaded, after the sync master's play button is pressed? So that i "step in" the sync belatedly?

Info: i don't need any song positions, only the timing.
