Does Anyone Know Of A Key Changer Plug-in...

Post by Kaidenjohn » Sat Nov 19, 2005 6:50 pm

I want to change the key so that my tracks play in the same key. Is there anyway to do this without having to know by ear what the key is, I mean by using the pitch control on the track. I think BT used some plug in for this but I could not see what it was..Thanks..

Well if you just want to change keys with a midi, just move all the notes in a sequence in all tracks up or down.

No I don't think we are thinking of the same thing but thanks...
Say if a dance track is C and the other track is F, then you want them both to be C so that they mix more fluid. Well I don't know if there is a program out there like a vst that finds the key for you and adjust all tracks the same...

Melodyne does exactly what you're looking for, and can run as a VST as well.

is he talking about mp3s? I don't think you'll ever get an mp3 to sound good when you change the pitch of the entire song.

Can't you just transpose the sample in the clip view? If you don't want to transpose too far and get artifacts, why not go to a relative Major or minor key to the song that comes before?

ya I could do that in the clip window. Although I don't know how to hear keys. There is a program do do this it's just that I can not find it. Also no now I am not warping mp3's due to the cache problem. Thanks...

mixing in key

Post by gazbats » Mon Nov 21, 2005 4:29 am

you can mix keys that are compatible with each other..

C is compatible with F & G... so don't worry just mix them!!!

look up key mixing in google and i'm sure you'll find a chart with all compatible keys..
