The midibox is timeconsuming, and when i build it i want it to be exactly what i want straight away, not have to go through 3 versions, not being able to use it meantime. this uc-33 is not too bad either.. and is helping me greatly plan exactly for a midibox. I would really suggest this to anyone considering building one.
but, you will have all the parts for it.. all you have to do is take notes, figure what you could have done with it, then order the extra parts and rebuild your box.
nobody is going to get it right the first time. you are going to be switching it around and opening it for your months.
accepting the problem will only make it go away.

i don't know if the original maven supports it , but i'd suggest implementing mackie control ... that way you can control 10 times as much parameters with the same number of knobs without manually reassigning them very time
ex: 1 or 2 channelstrips with some triggerbuttons and rotaries are enough if you can realtime switch the track they control

I dont think you will be able to build anything like a Maven mixer. You have small experiences with live so you need to spend more time with the software. Building a maven style of its quality will cost you big $$$$$. I know this because I spent over one thousand euro trying to build my version of my controler. I got help a technical person from university to help me'. It was a very stressfull journey for both people and after six months we gave up in agreement. I never even got to see it working. So many problems I ended up buying one off the shelf of the music store
I wish you luck a lot because I would like you to build one so to restore my faith building a controler of great quality can be done.
