uc33e-anyone know why you have to push buttons twice ?

for example, I have assinged buttons 1-6 to correspond with the cue/solo buttons in live but I have to push each button twice to activate/deactivate it. Does anyone know how I can set it up so I only have to push each button once ?

you need to change them from note on/note off
to
midi note #

Yeah I had fun, it only took me an hour to figure it out ! Felt very rewarding in the end. For any one else:-

-Hit select
-Type in the number of the button (to find the number > hit the button and read what it is under the clock looking thing)
-Hit assign
-Type in 147

Now go back into live and reassign the button. do that for each button you want to assign.

To save as part of the original preset you are working with hit "store" and then type in the number of the preset (for example for 1 it would be "01" you have to type in).

For this purpose is a free software-editor by M-Audio available: M-Audio Enigma. more easy to handle than programming the uc33e directly.

It wasnt an eye roll directed at you, more just at the manual itself which I cant help but think is a lot more complicated than it needs to be, midi in general I think is made a lot more complicated than it needs to be ?

I know at the end of the day it's best to just figure things out for yourself, so that you learn from it, I do appreciate the advice you offered so, if it seemed otherwise, it wasnt intended like that. I did say thanks and I meant it, wasnt intended to be sarcasm.

go to the search, try using "and" when using multiple terms more often

type in "UC33 and twice" without the quotation marks.
you'll find several answers.

also, i apologize that i did not realize you have the UC-33e, i have the UC-33 (non "e") which does not make use of the Enigma editor. The enigma editor makes it much easier to replace Note On/Off with Note #.
Had i noticed that originally, my answer would have been to change Note On/Off to Note # with the Enigma editor.
Its very handy, i use it with my Trigger Finger constantly.

I couldnt agree more and couldnt have put it better myself. Thanks guys, I have downloaded the enigma editor and been playing with that, definately makes things easier to edit multiple controls in one go and doesnt seem to difficult to figure out...thanks.
