It always blows my mind when I see Venitian Snares mentioned... I grew up in the same town as that guy and played the same venues back in the day.

I always forget that he "made it" in music. To me, he's still Aaron. Wierd. Not dissing the guy, I think it's totally wikkid that he's supporting himself with music and getting his ideas out there - it's just that I still don't understand that he's 'there' if you know what I mean...

haha! you should hear the old drum-n-bass remix I did of Whiskey River!
"Countryman" has such a processed, dubbed-out sound, it pretty much is electronic music...
...and yeah, I forgot the rules....

Yeah, I know what you mean. I heard about Venetian Snares through "word of mouth" Bought an album and wished that I got someting else.

Yes his drum programing is ingeresesting and all of that other boring shit. But, I'm like, "I already have enough Aphex Twin, Autechre, Square Pusher, Mouse on Mars, etc........ albums.

From what I've heard of his material, I will say he is talented, but also, "A late comer".

Hyper speed IDM has shown its age at the pace of the music itself.

Bryan Cox blew up pretty hard this year - Kid Icarus dropped a jam or two as well

Mike Balance came up a little as well

but let's see - The Chemical Brothers live show - WOW!

I don't know, I don't get out much - I had to be reminded these guys came correct this year

Paul Mac
Chris Liebing
Valentino K
Cerez D - MOUSEVILLE
Redhead
Patrick Skoog

and of course

Marco Bailey (every record kind of sounds the same but they're so HUGE, everytime!)
