Rewire issues with Ableton Live & Acid Pro 5

I have some old Acid Pro 5 tracks that I was hoping to rewire into Live & do some re-sequencing & add some VST instruments to. Unfortunately I am getting an insanely distorted signal from Acid. I can probably just render the loops (they have been cut up pretty well in Acid) & open them in Live but I was hoping to just Rewire/Record them into Live. Anyone tried this? BTW my old Reason tracks rewire just fine into Ableton.
