Live 5.2 osX crashing - "CoreFoundation does not define symb

Post by Fibrillation » Sun Nov 27, 2005 11:59 am

Hi all,

I've just upgraded to Live 5.2 running under OsX 10.3.9 on a 1 Ghz Titanium powerbook with 1 gig of ram.

On opening a Live .ALS file that I've created with Live 5.2 it constantly crashes. And after the crash I get this message:

Date/Time: 2005-11-27 03:42:34 -0800
OS Version: 10.3.9 (Build 7W98)
Report Version: 2

Command: Live
Path: /Audio-Apps/Live 5.0.2 OS X/Live.app/Contents/MacOS/Live
Version: 5.0.2 (5.0.2)
PID: 1310
Thread: Unknown

Link (dyld) error:

dyld: /Audio-Apps/Live 5.0.2 OS X/Live.app/Contents/MacOS/Live NSLookupSymbolInImage() dynamic library: /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundation.framework/Versions/A/CoreFoundation does not define symbol: _mach_port_destroy

I've repaired my file permissions, reset my Nvram, and run disk warrior. I've also deleted all Live associated files (preferences and undo cfg etc) and reinstalled Live. Still always the same result (a crash) when trying to open this song file but oddly enough not when I try to open older Live sets created under Live 4 or or if I create a new set in Live 5.2 and try to open that.

Please help, it's a important song :)

Yeah, that post was pretty much cut and pasted from the email I just sent them, but as I'd rather be working on that song before they get back into the office and get around to answering it I'm hoping that somebody here will know something that I don't.

This is now happening anytime that Live crashes in any song that I've created with 5.2, when I reopen Live and try to then open the song that crashed Live immediately crashes and gives me the same error.

This is really starting to make me mad as it basically makes Live unusable for me as it inevitably crashes, and once it's crashed I can no longer work on that song.

Note that I'm not having any other system problems at all.
