ReWire into DP....

Post by steve-o » Sun Aug 03, 2003 4:21 pm

...works for me, after some help from mister Klein.

For DP you *must* create aux tracks for each rewire ouput coming from live, Then you create audio tracks (either mono or stereo and create a new audio bundle for each track (again either mono of stereo). record enable the tracks and press record.

BTW DP 4.01, LIVE 2.1.1, X.2.6

Hi Oink - thanks for the reply!

It is a little confusing, as the first Mix channels you see, when the menu pops up, are actually for the second ReWire device. The Mix channels are always first on the list, so look up the very top of the menu.
I'm very new to Logic, so it's probably something dumb I'm doing wrong here. Live seems to work fine as a Rewire slave in Pro Tools 6.1.

In Logic, I click on a channel name and choose "Audio/Rewire". The channel name changes to Rewire. In the parameter box on the left, Logic shows:
dev: Ableton Live
bus: 6
cha: all

I start up Live, which opens in Rewire mode.....I can confirm this when I open bus view and see "Rewire bus 1/2, Rewire bus 3/4" etc.
When I start playing, no levels show in bus view (I can see levels on the individual clip meters) and no sound arrives in Logic. I have tried busing clips to all the different buses and nothing shows up on the meters in bus view.
It seems to me that when I selected "Audio/Rewire" on the Logic channel there maybe should be one more level of menus to select the individual Live buses from, but there isn't.

Have I missed an important step somewhere along the line here???

Thanks for the help man!!!

Steve.
