Stoning in this case would be dubious under "proper" Islamic law.Sunburzt wrote:It's just as awful as poor islamic women getting raped, and then sentence to death by stoning.
"Allahu akbar" = God is bigger/biggest/greater/greatest. The 'u' at the end of Allah indicates nominative case - in proper Arabic the subject would agree with the predicate to form 'Allahu akbaru'.people start chanting "Allah hu Akbar" (meaning, God is great)
Akbar is the elative of Kabir, meaning big or great. Arabic doesn't discern between comparative and superlative like Indo-European languages, it only has the elative.
The phrase is used in many different situations by Muslims and even non-Muslim Arabic speakers (you say "Allah" in every other sentence in Arabic, really), to express pleasure, approval, and even distress, as is the case with al-hamdu lillah ("all praise and glory is to God"), inshallah ("if God wishes"), mashallah ("the will/act of God"), wallah(i) ("by God", "I swear by God"), etc etc etc

PS: Fatwa does not mean death penalty. Danish media take note.
