I am using a Tascam Us-428 to record bass. When I hook it up and add an audio track, the input bars move and I hear the sound over my monitors. Then when I hit record, it shows that it is recording. But when I go to play it back, I hear nothing
Help please

when you click on the recorded Wav, can you actually see the Waveform? If you can, then are you sure you don't have that track muted, or another track soloed. If you don't see a waveform then it didn't record properly.

Yes, there was a waveform. This is what was most confusing. The program was able to output other audio sounds but not what i recorded. I could check muting and soloing but I am pretty sure there were none.

set your monitor status to auto or off for that channel.
I think you have it on on. Which would make that channel only pass signal present at its input.
