the echo seems pretty cool.

If you only need two outs and no in (as I assume you are since you're wanting to DJ), I recommend the Echo Indigo (my bandmates use it and seem to have no problems),. You stick it in the PCMCIA slot - don't know if the small PB has one though ?!?
Otherwise, I recommend the Traveler by Motu, but it may be too bulky for your liking....
