Mixing + CUE or Locate points

Post by Max Miles » Sat Dec 03, 2005 6:32 pm

This would be nice :
If you were able to set up KEY cue points or locate markers within tracks after you`ve warped them correctly for play mode.

This would be nice so that you could automaticaly shift from end of track right into the first main drop point you`ve selected in one keystroke.
Tracktor does this, most new Cd players do this with smart card tech.
Live already has the new locators function in the arrange page, why not include this possibility within full tracks.

Possible ableton?

Duplicate clip
move start locators
(save clips to .als)
assign midi to slots

Instead of saving you can select all the clips and drag into the browser it will also be saved as an .als Give it the name of the track then later you can drag the whole thing in and you're good to go.

Yes, you could duplicate clips, I mean without having to.

Just your track has a marker on exmple

Intro, keystroke A
First drop B
Main Hook etc.. C SAVE FILE, so it will play straight through, but if keystrokes A B or C are hit while it is being played, posisition of track will
jump to those points.

Press play and rock.

that's what's just been said, but then in one clip...I feel like I have more control if I have seperate clips...

There are more people who suggested this, so it seems to me it's just something getting used to. just try it like this, maby you'll get used to it too!
