Saving clips in the Browser

Post by King Frydai » Mon Dec 05, 2005 5:22 am

Hi.

I just started to organize and save all of my clips into the browzer instead of having a cluttered session view. So now I load a clip and mess with it and get my settings right and then put it into it's appropriate folder. Then the new clip in the browzer has a new tag next to it instead of the sound-wave that used to accompany it. Is this a safe method for organizing the material for a DJ set?

I find that the best way to organize these files is by starting their titles with their bpm. This way the slower bpm's are sorted to the top of their folder and the faster to the bottom.

Comments?

Hi,

One thing I see: just make sure yoou don't mess around with the original mp3s or wavs, leave them in the place they are originally, otherwise your clips will loose track and that's no good !
Otherwise it seems to me a quite good organization,
Cheers,

That's good advice. You probably just saved me hours of frustration. Thanks.

yeah, so before starting the whole clip->browser thing have a good long look at your file system, to determine whether your physical files are where you would want them to be.
mbp 2.66, osx 10.6.8, 8GB ram.
