Error in Live 5: not enough diskspace?

Hi there, I always used to work with cubase but Live 5 looks pretty cool so far. I've recorded one stereo track and then want to record another audio track with guitar. Now Live 5 generates the message:
Not enough diskspace - this recording will stop in 60 seconds.

This is realy * weird...my HD is large enough...I've tried to adjust the Mb-size at the misc-tab in Options...but that didn't work out.

Does anyone has run into the same problems?

Hi,

I think what you adjusted was the cache size for mp3 decoding. In order to have material recorded on your external large drive (do I guess right ?), you have to change the Audio Record folder. here is from the manual:

The Audio Record Folder selected in the Misc Preferences is the disk location where Live will put the samples you record into an unnamed Live Set. When the Live Set is saved, Live will attempt to move (space permitting) all samples from the temporary record folder to the saved Live Set's Sounds folder.

Should solve your problem.

Hi Amo, thanx for your alert reaction. You're right. Those cache-settings were only for decoding. So not due to this problem.

I've recorded before the stereo signal and that (wav)file was saved properly on my hard disk (internal). There's more then enough space for more audiotracks, but the error message still coming up as soon I pushed the record button.

The first is "Disk space is low. Recording will be stopped in 60 seconds".
After 1 second the second one pops up: "The disk is full. Recording has been stopped".

I'm using a pentium IV pc with an Emagic Audiowerk soundcard wich support the Asio driver. I also have an M-Audio fasttrack usb card, but that one doesn't work with win98. I must work with win98, otherwise the Emagic Card won't work. I also have an XP machine, but I can't record stereo with the Fasttrack USB.

I've looked everywhere in the manual and internet, but couldn't find a solution due to the problem I have. Do you have any clues?

Ok I see. Still, have you got a second hard drive ? Then try changing audio folder to that one see if it's still the same.. Could be an OS error but I don't see what...
