I've done a search about this but came up with nothing.
What I would like to do is basically assign 2 functions (namely band 1 gain and band 2 gain) to one knob. I want them to "move in the same direction" so to speak, the only different setting to be made would be the min/max values of the two. I realise the obvious, where live tells you that the control is currently assigned, would you like to reassign, etc... Is there any way to force/trick live into doing so anyway?

ooo i think i have a solution.
Temporarily changing the channel output of the knob, assign it to the other parameter in live. Then using bome's, create a new translator definition, midi in as the original knob channel/cc, midi out as the "other" knob channel/cc.
The result *should* be live responding to the original assignment, and the translated assignment at the same time...

I've got midi yoke installed, was using it lots with live 4 as it was limited to 2 remote controls. I used it in conjuntion with midi-ox. I'm essentially splitting the output of the midi device into two (or more if need be) virtual midi ports yeah?

Steeper Bass Roll-off with EQ4
oh boy, it's like a breath of fresh air once again just like the move from the resource hog n weird sounding eq3 on to eq4 
Alright, tools you need:-
MIDI-OX
Midi Yoke
In Midi-ox, under Options->Devices, i selected my Input Port as EV-XS USB (that is my x-session) and my Output Port as Midi Yoke 1 & 2
In the same window, under port mapping, I have deleted all channels except 11 for Midi Yoke 1, and all except 12 for Midi Yoke 2
I then created a data map (Options->Data Mapping), selected "Turn Map On after Ok"
clicked insert. On the next window, when input matches, I selected ch1
output to ch11 (keeping everything else as it is)
I have selected "Pass original value on (clone)" I'm not sure if that's necessary but in my sleep deprived state, it was amongst others that got this whole thing working, so, what the hell.
i then clicked insert again, this time sending from ch1 to ch12, without selecting clone.
Clicked ok, tested a knob, and everything i was turning/pushing was routing to midi yoke 1 ch11, and midi yoke 2 ch12.
I split to seperate yokes to aid in the assigning process, disabling/enabling as each parameter is given an assignment. We don't want to confuse live now do we???
Now, on to the eq section.
I loaded up an EQ 4
The settings are as follows:-
Band 1
Freq: 181Hz
Gain: 0
Q: 11.1
Band 2
Freq: 181Hz
Gain: 0
Q: 0.98
Band 3
Freq: 40Hz
Gain: 0
Q: 0.75
Band 4
Freq: 3.00 kHz
Gain: 0
Q: 4.64
I've assigned Band 1's Gain to the actual x-session input (which is on channel 1)
Band 2's Gain to Midi yoke 1's ch11, and Band 3's Gain to Midi yoke 2's ch12.
The Result, an interesting sounding steep-sloped shelf that has a little swell around 80hz as the bass is cut, but the cut appears to be very effective.

oh, this is effectively just for controlling bass below 180hz and treble above 3k, I wish the blasted x-session had 3 knobs but it doesn't, so this is how i'm workin with 2!!
I take care of my mid-range with the hpf of the autofilter, without the modulation.
Is it just me, or does the auto-filter with the modulation effect disabled use less resources than eq4 set-up in a hpf manner (not that how it's set up affects anything)?

question: one use for this I've wished for in the past is if you have a send set to pre fade and you want to have the main fader drop as the send goes up
could this be done with midi yoke? so I basically want to have to controls go in the opposite direction ONLY when the send is touched - so I DONT want the send to go up if I pull the fader down.
Can it be done that specifically? bearing in mind the main fader probably wont be all the way up at 127 when the send is at zero.

if i ran two eq4's as steep low pass filters in serial (ie one after another..) and controlled the frequency on both with one knob does that make it a 24db resonant filter? would 4 in a row be a 48db filter? would 8 be (other than insane) a 96db filter?

hmmmm....
I'm no expert, but I don't think combining several of the same slopes would cause the slope to get steeper, rather you would be cutting more at the same frequency points with less movement of the knob. ie with a low shelf that has a 12db slope, by turning your knob all the way to the left, because of live's -15db -> 15db range limit, that would optimally cause a 15db drop at that range. Combining 2 eq4s doing the same thing, controlled by the same knob *should* knock off 30db when you turn all the way. While that's a fair bit to cut, I wouldn't do it because the slope would still be pretty tame and the whole point is to get a steep steep slope carving out a nice chunk of the low end with ease.
