Audio cuts out during performance
It seems lately that the audio on cuts out for small amounts of time during use of the program. It usually only happens after 20-30 minutes of play and happens quite consistently for about 1 sec each time or something.
I'm using Windows XP professional and Ableton 2.0.1
If anyone could help I would be so greatful, seeing as I have 3 live shows to attend to in the next 2 weeks.
I've tried deframenting hte hard drive and shutting off un-needed programs. Is this a program error do you believe, or do you think its a sound card error? Ableton is the only program that has this problem.

2.0.1 was known to have a few bugs .... so please first upgrade to 2.1.1 and see if it continues to happen

whats yo specs--you need an external firewire hardrive at 7,200 RPM, 8 MB cache, and 8,9 ms seek time. check out sites on the net like the excellent

to tweak xp and get rid of loads of unneeded crap. Get at least 512 RAM, preferably a gig. I find live 2.0.3 to be the most stable on my xp pro toshiba 2430 gig ram, firewire drive.
good luck,

only a very few, very new, laptops have 7,200 internal drives--yours is probably in the 4,000-5,400 range. depending on how many tracks your using this can be a serious issue. I've found having the audio files on my external drive makes me capable of almost twice as many tracks--not only is the 7,200 much faster than the 4,800 internal, but also having the programs on the internal drive, and audio files on a sperate drive also makes a big difference. try 2.0.3 to see if it helps
