Sampler within ableton?

Post by LeonX » Thu Dec 08, 2005 2:44 pm

Can anyone tell me if Ableton has its own sampler? For isntance, I want to assign a one shot bass hit to a MIDI channel as I would be able to with a hardware sampler, or something like Kontakt. Is this possible?

yes it is. There are two samplers in Live, Impulse and Simpler.

although in Simpler, i'm not sure if you can assign a note across a range of notes.

I think you're confusing the issue, donny - the way I read the question, it sounded like LeonX just wanted to load one sample, and play it across a keyboard. That's the simpler way.

you don't even need s(i)ampler in Live to do this trick.
put any sample in the slot, assign midi range in which you want to play it and... woila! 8)

i just figured that with a bass sample that he'd want to play more than the sampled note.

I'm just trying to corner the market on the phrase Viola right now so I'm Viola hatin' on anybody who attempts to use the phrase viola in the context of Viola, the way i use Viola.

So did you it's "Voila"
