5.0.2 audio drops out at the first mix in a dj set

Post by Shane 54 » Sun Dec 11, 2005 12:49 pm

Hello,

I've had a problem for ages, and I can't really find a solution for this:

Every time I start playing in a club, when I play the second track (at the moment of starting) there is a huge (about 0.5 secs) gap in the music, after that no more transitions screwed. Sometimes it does the same when I twist a knob (or crossfader, whatever) on my Faderfox and it's very annoying in a live situation.
I thought it might be my FW-410's mac drivers, but yesterday - due to a firewire cable left at home - I had to play with the onboard sound card, and the problem was the same.

Does any1 experienced anything like this?
It drives me mad, cos most of the time I forget about it by the end of the set, so next time if I'm not cautious enough, I'm facing the same problem.
Help!

Thanks

Shane

setup: PB G4 1.33, FW-410, Faderfox LV-1

i've heard (already some time ago) that you need to wiggle a knob on your midi controller before starting the song, and all should be fine.

i've heard about this behaviour during L4 beta period, i think, so it seems odd this hasn't been fixed yet. what version are you running?

here's one thread reporting the same behaviour, there are others, i'm sure.

Yeah, this 'tweak something before you start playing' workaround was the only solution for me too, it's just a very annoying thing in case I forget it in the first place. :?
