Can't seem to launch scenes with keyboard

Post by Sales Dude McBoob » Sun Dec 11, 2005 5:49 am

Ok.

I'm preparing a Live set that I built up and used in Live 4.1.4. I recently jumped up to 5.2.

In the old Live set I had mapped out some keys from my laptop keyboard to launch scenes of clips from the master column of the Session view. When I click on the KEY button I can see that Live remembers that I had once assigned those launch arrows to certain keys of the keyboard because I can see the letter assigned to it.

But when I hit the key either

A)nothing happens

or

B)if I have a soft synth track armed, I press the letter and a note from the synth plays.

What am I doing wrong/forgetting? I forget if there is a way to disable the keyboard of the computer to be used to play soft synths. If so I want to disable it.

How do I get these babies to launch with the keys again?

Thanks

Hi,

Well, the way to disable the MIDI computer keyboard is to click the very little icon , top right, close the the KEY button (reminds me a lot of the beta period ! :) ), and it sounds more likely that it is what happens to you M. McBoob !

Also important to note is that manually assigned QWERTY keys are Case Sensitive ....

Good idea to double check whether or not your original key assignements are lowercase or uppercase.

Happened to me too when I first got Live 5. Yep, turn off the midi computer keyboard. It's also in the option menu, or shift/command/K. Might wanna save your template with it off too.
