Keep it up guys!
An advanced loop function is one of the few things Live is missing from a DJ point of view.
Multiple loops (intro / break / outtro) stored per clip would be the bomb.
Or, like some other program
For each track up to 10 individual cue points and loops can be saved. Cue points can be quantized to the next full beat; loops can either be set manually or to a previously defined length, with on-beat accuracy. Every jump-back command, including reloop, can also be quantized to the beat. With this function, inaccuracies when starting the track with the cue button become a thing of the past.
Oh! And look, it does this too...
%$!&*! uses the original Frauenhofer MP3-decoder to ensure optimal sound quality for all MP3 bitrates.
Just kiddin' guys.

OK - how about this...
The option to save multiple clips.
Imagine the clip name box as a drop down listbox with all your preset loops for the sample in question.
In this case selecting setting for your sample (e.g. a loop) could also change the clip name on the fly. Which is great for your overview.
What do you guys think?
(Sorry if this has been discussed before)

that kind of looping is standard for a lot of samplers such as my kurzweil k2000, you can play any sample from any start point to any set end point then have it loop between 2 markers at any point in the sample, you can even have it loop backwards and forwards alternatley

Shouldn't Live4's follow actions be able to do it?
Have a one-shot version of the sample precede the actual loop, with an unconditional follow action.
I haven't tried this out though (and can't anymore today)

This is an absolutely essential feature - I tripped over it immediately when coming up to speed on Live - can't believe it's gone for four revisions without it.
All my parts tend to start a beat or two before the barline...
I did find a workaround, but it's clunky...
Create one clip with mostly silence and just the pickup notes at the end of the clip. Use follow-on to immediately drop into the loop.
Not too bad, but it eats up a scene and is not something I'd want to do live.

OK - as one other poster mentioned - you can change the global quantize (for instance, to 1/4 notes instead of bars) and have the loop start on beat four. The bummer there is that you have to start the clip within the correct 1/4 note instead of the correct bar - so your timing with the mouse becomes more critical - but it is do-able.

The abilty to catch the upbeat would be huge!
Also, If the Abe's throw in PDC and Freeze, I'll have a bonfire with all that "other" software I bought over the years!!
