Hi, perhaps someone can help me here, and I emailed ableton about this as well. I have downloaded the demo for Live 5.02. I went to map the launch buttons in order to play clips. I had the midi function on and got the ususal blue highlight. So, I proceeded to map the buttons for my clips in session view; they received no midi data, no indicators of numbers, nada, nothing. The mapping for my clips didn't work. I pushed the buttons repeatedly, after clicking the blue highlight off, and they weren't mapped. Yet, I map the faders underneath the clip and they were under my controllers, well, control just fine....just not the buttons , they wouldn't take. Why is it I can map some functions and not others? Is this a bug? or am I not doing something right?
I have an Evolution uc33e controller and I would map all midi functions in my live lite 4.1.4 version just fine, no problem. What gives, I wish to upgrade to live 5, but this behavior, especially from a demo, does not inspire confidence in the product. I hope it is something I did wrong, and if so, how can I fix it. PS how do I get lessons, my demo did not come with them.
