Live 5 boots and fails

hi,

Live 5 doesn't start. Every time I double-click on the application icon, it starts to boot and then fails.I get message: The application live quit unexpectedly.I am running OSX 10.4.3 on an ibook 500 576MB

I have installed and run Verify permissions from ableton website. Says no problem found.

Try moving all your plugins from the vst folder first. And see if Live starts up then.
If it does. Then your problem is a dodgy vst (or AU).
You can narrow the dodgy one down by dragging your vst's back to the vst folder one by one. Boot up Live after every vst thats added and then quit it again.
Till you find the plugin that crashes Live. Which is probably the one you added last.

If it's not the plugin thing. then i have no idea what could be the problem.

i don't have a vst folder yet. I just installed live 5 on my hd.

was it ever possible to start up Live 5 once?
Do you have a previous version of Live that is starting up on your system?


If you use Live 5.0.1 you should use at least the latest final version which is 5.0.2 or the latest Live 5 beta (5.0.3b5).

I new to Live 5........ and I've been frustated with the same problem. Everytime I launch Live, I get"application quit unexpectedly" I tried reinstalling with the same results. Now it's my DP4 program is doing the same thing. What's UPPPPPP!!!!
