How does the mute option work (with live)? The manual isn't very clear about this function.

it's pretty simple, actually. If your pads transmit cc's when you press on them, AND midi notes, then assigning functions in live can be difficult - what midi value should be assigned to which function? Pressing the mute button lets you mute for instance the controllers in order to assign a note to a parameter in Live, without the controllers constantly overwriting the notes in the midi assign.
