try using the enigma software to personalize your settings

i do not use any of the presets

i have 4 of the program banks set just for midi notes, like each pad is a different midi note,
then i have the knobs and sliders set for fx control, pitch, mod, etc.

if you want to set pads to control impulse

the midid notes for that are as follows

C3
D3
E3
F3
G3
A3
B3
C4

then just set your knobs and sliders to control any general midi, that will activate them so you can use them for anything in live.

that should get you started.

have fun

origami, it definitely sounds like you're triggering clips. If you want to play drum sounds, and don't want Live to be playing I really do recommend using the impulse sampler, with the settings that D DAS just wrote.

Btw, there is a preset in there for impulse, i think it's number ten or eleven.

Thanks D Das for that tip. I got a TF yesterday,. and managed to get it playing really quickly last night after reading your post. Am feeling a massive creativity leap abotu to occur.

Only thing is, factory preset 10 has C3 to C4 mapped to pads 1-8 _AND_ pads 9-16, it would seem.

Given all impulse instances are triggered by midi notes C3 to C4, how do I set up the TF to play one impulse kit on pads 1-8 and a different impulse kit on 9-16? Then I'd really be cooking with gas.

Assume there's a way to do it in Enigma, by changing which "note" a pad triggers. I can make pads 9-16 trigger a different octave, say C5 to C6. But how do you change the second impulse so that C5 to C6 are the triggers?

You can't change the notes Impulse receives on, you might be able to do something similar by changing the midi channel the pads send and assigning diff. midi channels to your 2 Impulses...think I'll give it a shot too!

Yeah MF - I figured that might have been the way to do it.

Otherwise, I might just have to use the pads as scene /transport controllers. But I kinda already have a uc33-e for that. I bought the Trig Fing to play some percussion stuff - like a regular drum kit on bottom pads and tribal drums on the top ones. I hope I can figure this out.
