Hi,
I never used fruityloops within Live, but I guess it is like any other multi channel instrument:
- create an extra midi track
- inthe drop down menus, in midi to, choose fruityloops
- in the drop down menu below, choose which channel that track will controll.
Then if you need the sound to come out on another audio track, same. create an extra audio track and use the routing: audio from = fruityloops, then choose the channel/instrument.
Also, see the routing section in Live's manuel, about multi outputs instruments.
Best,
amo

They way Amo described is exactly how to do it. You will need to set up multiple midi channels, route them all to FL and choose different FL inputs in the sub-chooser. In FL you will have to set up your outputs as to where the sound goes out. If necessary, you will have to set up multiple audio tracks in live as outputs for the FL mixer.
It dosent Work
I can get FL plugin 1st indtrument only there seams to be now wat to control the midi and there arnt any insrtuments to choose from (Darn those pesky kids) I dont understand have tried every thing i can think of but there seams to be no support for the ruity loops plugin as there is in cubassis
Any help PS i dont want to rewire just use as plugin.

Because of the way FL Studio works, you can only control one instrument at a time, the one that is highlighted in Step Sequencer. If you want to control more than one at a time, it's a rather daunting ordeal to setup. You would have to seperate your keyboard if you plan on using only one midi controller. And, you would have to setup seperate channels in Live with a different Midi yoke mapped virtual controller on each channel. Then, you'd have to setup a different "Midi OUT" plugin (in Fl Studio) and map that to each individual instrument (The routings alone will make you want to stop, if just one problem occurs, because it'll be hard to determine where it is in the roughly 6-7 steps for each virtual instrument you'll be using to set up this kind of environment). You don't have to use the MultiOut version of FL studio, unless you want to send each instrument to a different Ableton mixer channel.. which i assume you'd want to do. By far, the hardest part is getting around mapping the "Midi OUT" plugin. I managed to get all this accomplished, but I didn't think that the amount of time spent setting it up was worth the performance hit you'll take. It's way easier to just do it in Live. Fl Studio is a great tool, but will definitely make your work more complex than it needs to be, and ultimately detract from your creativity. You'll get to a point when you'll wind up asking yourself if you want to make music, or do tech support. You'll ultimately decide based on your needs. Good Luck.
I had a second look, and if you use rewire instead of vst, you'll be able to setup a new midi channel in Ableton for each virtual instrument in FL Studio by just creating a new midi channel in ableton and route the mid output to each instrument on the midi channel out instrument on the pull down list in the ableton midi channel... cheers...
If you use the "Multi" VST, you can do this:
Create a MIDI clip in one track. (let's say 5)
Put FL5 VSTi (Multi) in another track (say 6) Arm the track.
Route your MIDI out to track 6, choose the FLn you want
Change it, and whatever FLn you choose will get the input.
In short, you must use the Multi VSTi. Routing MIDI from an external controller may be a little different, but that's the way it works with clips.

UTENZIL a tool... of the muse.
it's slightly off, but since Fruity has a pretty damn solution for sidechain compressing (as I've heard), I was wondering how would it be possible to set up the FL VST the simplest (or most efficient) way to do so.
Some step-by-step instructions would do best, I'm not a big FL user, but curious that it might provide an alternative way to sidechain...
Thanks
Shane
