OT Wavearts Powersuite 5 crashes Live et al

Grabbed the full demos, install the plugs and trying to instantiate any of them, vst or au, brings up a dialog 'unable to create user preset folder', clik yes, no or cancel 5 times with no result other than Live crashing. Same result in Cubase SX and Logic Express too. Written to Wavearts about it but wondering if anyone else has similar problems.
btw everything is max. up to date and have tried all known Mac voodoo as well as removing all other plugs.

FWIW they work fine on Windows XP, so if nothing else that may narrow down the information you need to supply WaveArts/Ableton. Sorry I can't help more though. Nice plugs, by the way.

Got a reply from WA already and they changed a couple of things in the installer to make sure it all gets put in the right places now and shaboom! all is well.

I can install the powersuite 5.08 no probs on XP live 5.0.3 but yet I'm still actually unable to hear /see any audio processing from the powersuite plugs (installed and using vst obvisouly)

The individual plugs all work (master Reverb, MutilDynamics etc etc) but the Powersuite still refuses to work.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues?
