I saw them here in pittsburgh two years ago. It was like girl that was so hot that most other girls jsut looked like wallpaper. Only it wasn't superficial like my wretched ananlogy. Seriously raw, lo-fi, and incredible.telekom wrote:I would LOVE to see Lightning Bolt!slatepipe wrote: lightning bolt
See if you can get a copy of "the power of milkshakes and salads."
It does a good job of bringing depth to their show, but they is no way to imagine the the actual presence of being in room that is so manically operated by their lascivious, irrational music.

Modeselektor
because:
two people trowing the most eclectic mixture of beats together and instead of sounding just odd the result is amazing and euphoric....
Errorsmith
because:
He is using a self written Reaktor patch which serves as five track sequencer and
sound generator and each of the sounds constantly morphes from the deepest possible bass / BD to percussive metal to noise snares and hihats and the grooves goes simmilar wierd ways. I have seen the patch, I understand the math, and I still have absolutely no clue what Eric does on stage.
Autechre
because:
i stopped listening to their albums, and my expectations were low. But their live performance in Newcastle this year made me wish they would release it as an album. powerfull, playful dance music at its best.
Robert Henke Studies for Thunder 8 channel at MUTEK
because:
i expected it to be "okay" and instead it turned out to be one of the concerts which
make me continue doing what I am doing. ( self asskissing !!! don`t try this at home !?)

I'll tell you which show left much to be desired...
Blank & Jones in Dallas. Here's my review of the show, which was basically B&J standing around with eyes closed (really "into" the music) and raising arms every couple of minutes.

Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that they did push the space bar to start their completely prerecorded set, and boy did they push it with style.

...Now this is a real electronic live show, no sequencer, no computer, huge Moog modual, all done by hands... And a real good visual show plus a freaky electro sound...(Wow)

Is there a good (legal) source to find experimental/dance music performaces online?
I'd love to hear a bunch of these. I'm not much of a Daft Punk fan but that live show posted on this forum made me want to chop up everything I've ever done and try to weave it together on the fly in Live. (I'm just getting started with Live if you can't tell).
Robert,
Perhaps you have a collection of your performances online somewhere? The one time I saw you play I was blown away. It quite literally changed my life (Summer 2001 in Copenhagen at some abandoned factory's courtyard w/ Andreas Tiliander, safty scissors, Pole, etc.)
Honestly it was the best show I've ever experieinced (and I was sober
)!
