New site featuring tracks/live performances done with Live
Hi! Bit of shameless self-promotion here
, but if you're interested please have a look at www.subdelay.com, a new site for the electronic music label "Sub Delay". Almost all tracks available (including the live recordings) were composed, performed, produced and mastered using Live. Also, we are doing an online radio transmission tonight (Japan time) for those interested.
Any feedback on the site/music much appreciated! Cheers!

Homepage and liveperformance..
Hey guys.
First of all - I saw your site and it looks AWESOME! Also I was listening to your radio-show saturday and though I am normally more into trance music I really liked both sets. So good work there!
Well, I was listening to the previews from your live-performance in your music section and it somehow sounds like you're in control of quite a lot of the elements in your music. Since I am also playing live from time to time using Ableton Live I was just wandering how your setup normally is when you are playing live. Do you use ext. synths, midicontrollers etc.etc.

Thanks for the praise! Glad you liked yesterday's sets. The setup for our live-performances is usually quite simple with a BCR-2000 and an Oxygen 8 controlling Live. Every song is split into multiple clips on about 14 seperate tracks which are triggered from the BCR-2000 while the knobs are used to control filters and effects and the Oxygen 8 keyboard to add melody lines, arpeggiator etc. This setup allows us to not only perform individual songs in anyway we want (depending on the clips fired the character of a song can be change dramaticllay) but also to mix and match parts of different songs, and have say, the drum parts of one song becoming the rhythmic foundation of another song. Does this clear things up a bit?
Krank, yes! Although I'm personally situated in Japan at the moment we are Danish.

Haha, penalty points for quoting out of context!
However, having lived in Japan for 3 years now, the question almost seems valid in its own way.
Did you get a chance to look at the site? Oh, we are also looking for other artists to distribute on the site so if anyone's interested please send us an e-mail at [email protected]

Superb website, guys. Although normally my style of music, I do like to broaden my musical knowledge. I started listening, and couldn't stop! Really, really nice stuff.
IMO, this is the future of the successful musician. Keep the parasites and leeches (management, labels, studios, distributors, promoters, etc) out of the equation. Do everything yourself, and sell it online.
Again, impressive stuff - both the music AND the marketing. I hope it motivates others to do the same.

Hambone, thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the site/music. Yeah, we figured what you said, that sending out demos to record companies and so on would never get us anywhere, but still, whenever we were playing out at live events, people would approach us asking us where to get our music etc, so the natural thing was to set up something online to allow people to get cheap and easy access to our music, as well as providing a base for us to do creative activities such as the online radio performances and so on. That's why we are also hoping we eventually will be able to get other musicians on the site and gradually build an extensive library of good music, as well as having live performances from talented musicians around the world.

Chicotree, glad to have inspired you and I can assure you we will be expanding our library of music in the days to come. Actually we should already have a new electro EP release on the site within 2 weeks or so.
Forge, cheers, would love to hear whatever you've got! As far as promotion goes we haven't really started promoting on a larger scale yet and do not possess funds to have any huge campaigns or anything so at the moment we are mainly relying on word-of-mouth and of course letting people know about the site whenever we are out playing and so on. If anyone has any ideas for ways of promoting the site, by all means let us know! Payments on the site are so far handled using the online payment system Paypal (http://www.paypal.com) which works pretty well, since anyone with a credit card are thus able to pay using a safe and reliable method. In the case of hosting other musicians we are basically taking a small cut of every track sold to cover expenses of hosting the site etc, so there are no fees as such involved for musicians being presented on our site. If you have any more specific questions feel free to ask here on the forum or send us a mail at [email protected]
