like previous posters said...
if you want that template (i like to keep things open, well, partially), you'd only have to do it once.
open Live and the default live set will load. take the time to think things through, and assign away using the midi map procedure. save your end result as your template/default project. you can even do several templates for different purposes (mixing/mastering/synth noodling/dj'ing/sequencing/.../specific much used instruments...).
otoh: i just bought a second hand faderfox LX1. it comes with Live templates. if you load on of those, you have that "plug'n'play". combined with my also newly acquired BCR, it's great. i even dug up the nostromo i hadn't used anymore since switching to mac. cooooool. have the nostromo do the key stroke macro's and such. you can have the nostromo app in the autostart (or whatever it's called), do the template thing, and have everything set up like you want, everytime.
now i just need to incorporate the behringer FCB1010 that's been gathering dust for almost two years now. now i just need to replace the plasticky evolution keyboard to one of those CME master keyboards and i'm set.
