doesn't really matter - you can still use it thru a midi interface rather than USB

Do you guys know if I can use the remote 25 as an Midi Interface?
I use the EMI 2/6 which does not have Midi, so I will need a extra Midiinterface for the USB port of my Notebook, is the remote 25 the solution?

Yes you can. Currently only on PC. It has MIDI in, out and thru, plus a second separate MIDI out. You can do some pretty clever MIDI routing around between these ports and the USB port if you want to as well.

BUT we're still waiting for the Mac drivers to come out...till then for us MacHeads its still just a kbd.

Hey Paddy,

thanx for your reply!!
That sounds good to me, as I'm using a Toshiba Notebook! ;-)
Now I'm wrestle with myself if I buy the Remote or just a USB Midi-Interface and keep my Oxy!
It's a price thing....damn...

I Reckon ditch the OXY and get the ReMote. The R25 is SO much more intelligent. I reckon get outta the oxy while its still a current model.

just me $0.02 +GST

I use the OXYGEN8

Post by neomodo » Sun Sep 14, 2003 5:22 pm

if we're talkin laptop
which implies remote
the oxygen 8 fits in a small bag -
usb midi interface + 25 key keyboard and 8 midi contro knobs.

I'm gonna dump it for the new version of that which also includes the digital audio part...

Read another thread related to novation on this forum : it seems that the OSX drivers for the remote 25 don't work at all and the user who posted about it says that their support is shit ! (that is to say no support)

Remote 25 install

Post by DJ Elio-Sonic » Mon Dec 01, 2003 10:00 am

Guys,

I know I'm pobably pretty stupid, but I can't get my Remote 25 to work with ableton 3.0. ( I have MacOSX)

I already downloaded all drivers from the novationmusic site, without any result...

What am I doing wrong. The install keeps asking for AMS (Audio MIDI System) I can't find that anywhere....

Please advise.

cheers
