Can someone please give me some advice !!!

Post by zyx » Wed Dec 28, 2005 6:09 am

I have ableton live 5.0.3
Reason 2.5

running with mc 303
and yamaha cs2x

the cs2x has midi thru, i want to run both at the same time and sync it all up in ableton live.

For some reason I cant do that. it syncs up fine when i just connect my mc 303, but when i try connecting both of them together it doesnt do it...

any advice will be greatly appreaciated!!

clock is shady to begin with, sometimes...

but when you start daisychaining it, then things get really funky.

If possible, just send it to one device, or use 2 seperate clock outs (dont know if Live supports that, though).

thank you so much for you reply.

yes im trying to figure it out now, but i dont think it has multiple clocks

oh yeah im using a audiophile 2496 sound card with midi out

im thinking just to buy another soundcard for another 2 midi outs...
but if there is a way to do it now it will save me some money!!!!!!!

You don't need another soundcard. You can either buy an inexpensive MIDI interface (make sure you can send the clock to multiple outs first. MIDI OX might help) or - perhaps better - buy a MIDI splitter.

The splitter is a small box with one midi in and two midi outs. Everything on the input is replicated to both outputs.
