Is this really happening? HowdidnoreviewscatchtheCPU issue?

Post by Nue Method » Thu Dec 29, 2005 2:15 am

All those great spectacular reviews, and not one touched on the CPU Issue???. I find that hard to phatom, Has anyone come up with a solution yet??. Alex this is your companies most pressing matter, surely you can't enjoy the sheer number of posts like this that have popped up lately.

I try to run 4 or 5 audio clips and record midi VST over the top and I get the breakfast trio of Snap, Crackle and Pop rearing theor ugly mugs upon the set. Leaps from 20 ish to 80 ish to over 100% in no time.....I invest alot of time researching to ensure it was the right buy, and now I am beginning to regret not going with Cubase.

What is ableton going to do about it?? Stand up, be counted and bring my love back by correcting this horrific problem. Because it is an otherwise fantastic program.

Regards,
Craig C.

Hi Nue Method,

I assume do you refer to Live 5.0.3?

I'm also not sure about our computer hardware "3.06 1.02G XP" means you have a 3.06 P4 with 2GB RAM and Win XP?

regards,
/Alex

Hi Nue Method,

ok, now that I know your computer hardware set up please let me know what exactly you do in Live and what happens.
I'm not sure about what you really mean because "CPU issue" can mean anything.

by the way, did you used a previous version of Live too? (Live 4, Live 3,...)

regards,
/Alex

alex,

I am running a couple of audio tracks as drum patterns, no problems. But when I try to record Midi Absynth overdubs Live, the cpu jumps and audio becomes poppy and crackly. I fooled around with the buffer and it did help a bit, do you have any other suggestions?.

Craig

Hi Craig,

does it only happen with Absynth or also with other instruments?
Do you already tried to change plug-in buffer size (within the Plug-in section of Live's preferences)?
