I'm curious as to whether , legally , we would be entitled to our money back

Hi henry ford,
I read your postings of the last days and in none of them I found really helpful information that could help us and so you to find or track down problems you experiences with Live. I'm not sure what you want to achieve with these posting and these one here too.
If you decide not to help us to find out what the problems are or could be and not to participate on what you called "beat testing" it is ok, nobody will force you to do so.
By the way, feel free to contact Ableton directly if you want to get a refund concerning Live 5.
regards,
/Alex

You should perhaps ask:
Are the continous problems with "my brand and model of PC" accepted by the ecc?
Perhaps you could get your money back from them?
Just an idea.
Greetings

yo Ford - dont' be such an idiot with these stupid posts. lots of people are not having any problems with 5 and certainly any problems are not sufficient to be asking for money back. thats the act of a spoilt child.
work with the Abes support directly and tell them of your problems. they are good smart people and if they can find the problem, they will fix it. if the problem then turns out to be 3rd party related - eg maudio then you replace your hardware. simple as that. Here's a rule to remember: you're working with software. software has bugs. they get fixed. simple innit? Happy new Year

i've bought live 5 when it first came out. now its nearly 2006 - and still problems exist which make simply using it a pain in the ear. excuse me for being tired of this beta testing. no need for quotation marks. thats exactly what it is when the user has to constantly make note of the settings and circumstances of the programme and post that information on to the programmers to get the programme to operate as it should. just because you're selling live 5 does not mean its out of 'beta'. beta is as beta does. unwanted NOISE getting added to my audio output is more than just a bug , its an outright malfunction of the softwares intended purpose. and an insult , after spending 400 euro how many months ago ?
i'll make sure to post and email every single nugget of detail you could possibly need or use to get to the bottom of this hideous crackling.
but as with the midi problem , that doesnt mean it will get fixed any time soon.
as if the input I give you will in anyway speed up the problem being addressed.
anyways , the subject of this thread is still a valid one , worthy of a public reply amounting to a little more than 'contact us'

the dvd burner never burnt a dvd , and it stopped reading media two days after the warranty expired. i was told i had to pay a fee of , if i recall correctly , 30 euro to talk to someone about the fault and was assured that it would be fixed. they picked up the laptop , and told me eventually that i had to pay them 400 euro for a new burner , to which i said NO WAY , then i was told i had to pay a further 85 euro to get my laptop back. a fee I was never warned about - infact i was told there would be no other fees by the person i was talking to, in fairness english wasnt their first language so perhaps they had forgotten the usual protocol whilst trying to speak to me - i dont know. so it cost me 115 for nothing , plus the cost of a new external. all of this , and I had spent thousands on sony tvs , vcrs dvd players mini discs mics yadda yadda for over 10 years in my local sony outlet , and my father before me, plus my brother ..........quite alot of money to spend in one store with the same owner. and now i dont buy sony any more. it was a sony store , and it was sony who refused to budge.
ditching the m-audio interface is not an option...read all my previous posts on this topic. live comes with m-audio. so it should work with their devices. call me a simpleton if you want. i just expect a little bang for my buck. it was the height of summer when i bought this , its now past the depths of winter. and still big problems which make normal use highly annoying......when using 4 i -rarely- posted on the forums , and as for my input over the past few weeks lacking any helpful information....well , perhaps if live 5 worked right i could post something helpful. until then im just annoyed with it , and sorry i bought it so soon , instead of something else.
