the .asd file is is the live file that contains all the information
pertaining to a song/file.

i believe what you are trying to do is render an audio file, correct?

when you are ready to create an audio file, use the menu command or
keyboard shortcut for "select all".

go to file menu, and select render to disk. there you go.
thats how you turn a live project into an audio file.

best,
wm

Are you sure you have Quicktime installed? If not then install it, dummy!

Attitude problem

With an attitude like that you will be struggling to get much help on any forum.

Epilac's reply makes perfect sense.

When you render to disk you will at least get an audio file and, subject to your preferences an .asd file as well.
When you render you decide where the file will be saved.

There's nothing magical about a "Quicktime file".
Its just an audio file.

You can add any audio file to a Quicktime Movie file with the right software.

Still having problems...

Post by MrCarey » Sun Sep 07, 2003 11:55 pm

Greetings,

I was teasing myself with the whole "dummy" thing....I thought I found the simple solution...I hadn't had Quicktime installed so I poked some fun at myself... Installing Quicktime solved the problem but only temporarily. Now it's making files that seem to be generic "documents" and not aif files...

I know how to render to disk and I know that asd is not the audio file etc.

But the audio file that it makes seems to be a "generic document" and not an aif quicktime document like before and when I try to play it, it says "the program that created ____could not be found, do you want to open it with these other programs.." and it lists Quicktime etc.

I can play it but I want it to be an aif file that I can burn to a CD and I choose aif when I render to disk but it doesn't seem to be connected with the Quicktime software anymore.

I tried "rebuilding the desktop" but that doesn't work.

I am working with OS.9.2

I hope that's clear

Thanks a lot,

MrCarey
