I'm using E-MU 0404 patchmix for my soundcard. When I turn on my monitors (or put on headphones) and have Ableton on and armed I hear the outbound signal (out of Ableton) delayed after going in signal. I'm using ASIO strips in the patchmix.. Having the signal coming out of Ableton delayed like this (about a quarter of a second) makes it impossible to sync up my playing of live instruments to tracks already in the song (drum tracks from Reason for example).
I'm operating on Windows, is it possible I need to enable or disable a sound function or driver?? Maybe this is a problem with the preferences settings in Ableton or Patchmix??
I'm using Ableton Live 5.2 and an E-MU 0404 PCI sound card on a newer model Dell PC (gig of RAM).
any ideas? I had never tried DAW recording before so now I'm incredibly depressed and dissapointed as I wanted to get started on a project - but now I can't record any live instruments and I'm stumped...
E-MU patchmix signal delay
thanks
yeah, I found a similar post the other day asking the same question. That one got a response (though not as terse as yours) that pointed me in the right direction. Knew it had to be something simple that I just wasn't getting.
Thanks for your reply.
