your tracks sounds like you used drumloops - sucks
the track is nice, but i think using drumloops is pretty lame

yeah like some people out there still use instruments like guitars and drumkits too - I mean how lame is that??scifish wrote:your tracks sounds like you used drumloops - sucks![]()

the guy is a self confessed DJ - meaning it's about the dancefloor
mixing it all together to get the right vibe is the biggest part of the skill - it's called PRODUCTION as opposed to programming
some highly prolific producers on the dance scene I've met often just get 4 or 5 samples of other peoples records and chop and mash them all together and the whole point is it gets the floor pumping - the whole dance industry was raised on samples and theft
not saying these days all electronic musc does because I for one almost never use samples any more, but I still get the merits of stuff that does and dont think it's lame.....
oops rant..sorry..
there is always individuality just by the person's feelings influencing the music - that is why there are so many DJs and dance producers who have no real musical theory behind them at all - it is ALL done on feel - some people might use drumloops to get the vibe out quicker and not have a history of programming drums but instead mixing records, and all I'm saying is I'm just as likely to want to listen to somebody's track if they are not a drum programmer but are a good DJ/mixer who uses loops - each to their ownscifish wrote:your tracks sounds like you used drumloops - sucks![]()

listening to your tune martin - very nice, really like it alot - in fact I think you will probably like the first tracks on my website that were out on UK label Low pressings - very much a label of this kind of deep house, in particular the first mix of "everywhere I go" and the 1st mix of Making me feel" and the "cape town" mix of Mon Cong.

sorry to hijack adonis!
i didn't want to insult someone when saying i don't like music which is basically build from loops. i just say i don't like it because it's uninspirational, but that is MY point of view. i will listen to your tunes when i am at home. do you have any suggestions concerning labels i can send my tune(s) to?
best regards,
martin

only some of the obvious ones, yoshi toshi, NRK, Soma, Bedrock sadly Low Pressings are no longer running (very sad, really great label), I'm really quite diggin Poker flat latelyscifish wrote:do you have any suggestions concerning labels i can send my tune(s) to?

I'm quite a religious follower of Tom Stephans wednesday show on Kiss FM (UK) and dont dislike very much of what he plays at all, so most of those labels
Dave Mothersole(also Kiss 100) is another good one for your style of music, as is John Digweed
what about some of your own countrymen? Bpitch for the first one I can think of, but there a few. Germany seems to have a very healthy music scene - maybe you need to move to Berlin!
I'm fairly out of the loop when it comes to labels really - I would think the best bet would be to go somewhere like Beatport and check some labels that you like close to your style then send it to them
