The beta is going online in a couple of days. We are hoping
for your participation! Thanks and talk to you soon.
We will release Live 2.1.2 which will fix the browser/record bug that resulted in some different strange behaviours or freezes on the Windows platform within the next 24 hours.

Hopefully, they didn't feel they needed to highlight it because it's now a matter of course that usable performance is available on both the PC and Mac versions, and they didn't want to dwell on past shortcomings as well as risk upsetting PC users by releasing two updates that explicitly focus on the Mac (regardless of whether they were justified). I've got a sinking feeling this isn't the case though.Alex Reynolds wrote:Hopefully this was an oversight.

Overall, the improvements of Live 3 are sensibly focussed on enhancing what Live does best and making up for most glaring deficiencies- mach-o VST, step sequencing, UI niceties. If it doesn't perform better on a Mac, it all won't count for too much though. Worse still, if it performs worse than Live 2 in the way that Live 2 seems to have performed worse than 1.5, than we're really on a sliding slope to hell.
We'll see.

Well done Ableton team,
Nice evoloutionary step for the software. Adding more of the that fluid workflow mechanics with the clip automation and enhancing the creative possibilties and workflow. Makes me a big fan. Keep it up.
Was kinda hoping for VSTi implementation somehow - someway
. Would it be possible to generate a seperate bolt on progam in the near future.
A. rewire slaves to live
B. hosts VSTi's
C. has Basic Midi sequencer
I would personally pay £50 - 70 for such a thing perhaps more if was a bit deeper. Although something as simple as live to use but for midi sequencing of VSTi's would be ideal !
Sorta like Lives cousin

I am not at all disappointed (BTW: by what I haven't seen yet). Despite the fact that I was wishing for VSTi and the like myself, I can see the character of ZEN shining up in in the abletons decision to instead improve what is Live's strongest. Yes that's rare and pure luxury in craftmanship, and somehow I need to respect you don't like to nail a chair against the table (but can you please provide a chair separately?).
It gives me confidence, you're grown from lovable company to wise company.
Thanks! Bring on the table now...
See you later on the feature wish list

Love!

All the new features sound very nice. Thankyou Ableton!
Makes LIVE more like a ram & disc streaming _sampler_ with phrase beat matching, fx, etc... Midi velocity & pitch, yes!
Now I just hope Ableton has fixed the very poor OS X performance of their 1 & only ap!!! There's something called Altivec which is used in _EVERY_ pro media ap I use except LIVE.
Hoping,
rRand

in terms of vsti, perhaps the mach-o vst suppport will mean osx users can use Jack with Live. (currently does not work in live)
jack is an audio server that was ported from bsd/ linux that allows routing of audio from any apps audiounit or vst to another apps audiounit or vst.
so, if it now worked, you could simply 'jack' something like numerology (what! you dont know what that is!!!??) into Live.
