hello peeps,
Need some help with Ableton analysis files.
I'm in the process of digitising my record collection. In my studio, I transfer the records to my computer using an M-AUDIO sound card set to 24bit/48000Hz. I must say I am very happy with the results. The sound quality is excellent. The files are very large, but I have a large hard disk in my studio so it isn't a problem.
I have begun to warp the tracks, and so far I have 200 - 300 warped 24bit tracks. My idea was to have a big high quality music library on my studio machine. Whenever I need to DJ I would transfer tracks to my laptop, and away I go.
However, I noticed that my laptop doesn't really like these very large 24bit waves. So when I transfer the music to the laptop, I also convert the tracks from 24bit/48000Hz to 16bit/41100Hz. But this gives me a big problem. Live 5.0.3 no longer recognises the tracks. Which means the live analysis files are useless as they are associated with the 24bit waves. Which means I must warp everything again.
Does anyone know, is there a way to edit Live analysis files and associate the warp markers they contain with a different file? There must be a way ... I mean, with regard to the tracks in question, there is no difference between them, only the bit rate. The file names are the same, the length of the track is the same. The tempo's are the same. Surely there must be a way. Anyway, that is all.
By the way. Abes, thanks for the update. 5.0.3 works fine now. Played at a nice party on new years eve without a glich. I'm impressed!

Hi,
Do this: open the 24bits file, hit the "replace" button ion the clip area, and choose the 16bit file. They have to be the exact same length, but they should be right ?
Best,
amo
