Melodyne 2

Post by No 1 » Sat Aug 30, 2003 12:48 pm

I read a reply to a post from an Ableton engineer, he suggested (recommended) Melodyne as a good tool to pitch shift samples prior to use in Live.

I just downloaded the Melodyne 2 demo but I couldn't figure out where to start. The graphics looked like they had been done by a kid using Visual Basic and it crashed when I tried experimenting with it.

I am not new to audio software but is this software really worth what they are asking for it ( its about $ 800) ?

Everyone says it's outstanding, so I guess it must be.

BTW, if nobody pays for software, then there will be no software to download - just a thought.

it's a good bit of software, and if used creatively is a very powerful tool..too many people use it as a 'ptich fix' package, but can potentially be used to play with pitch the way abelton "plays" with time.

Seen the two packages being used in real time rewired into pro tools HD rig and as a sound sculpting package, it seems to be an awesome combo

it's because of people like that dickhead who can't tell when something is worth paying for or not that are the cause and reason Live doesn't have altivec support.
