DX record OK, Asio record broken?
DX record OK, Asio record broken?
I want to switch to Asio so I can start ercording on the fly. I want to start by using http://plugins.timeshard.com/angstrolooper/ to do a KT Tunstall
But as soon as I switch from MME/DX to Asio the mic no longer records. There's no Asio in control panel. (so it's not the standard mixer that's causing it).
Is this a Live problem? Does ASIO have it's own mixer?

I tried http://www.asio4all.com/ as an experiement.
- the asio4all records ok but doesn't playback
- the creative asio still doesn't record but plays back ok
hmm...
Could be related to me having to use my line out since the green audigy plug needs re-soldering :/

Ableton is the problem.
Using http://www.hermannseib.com/english/vsthost.htm I set Asio to `Creative`. I then set the Asio channel selection to Mic and behold it then worked!
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a Asio channel selection option in Ableton?
Any ideas where this might/should be?
Hopefully this post is beginning to be useful to someone now.

nice try :)
Thanks, a good idea and I thought that was it. Unfortunately there's no Mic available to select, only `Ext. In`, `Resampling`, `A-Return`, `B-Return` & `No Input`.
So I can't select line-in or mic input.
The manual doesn't mention any more detail as far as I can see.

i have a similar problem!
im not sure if we have the same kind of issue. I cant record adat out of live. are you using a mac? im running os x. theres no asio driver in coreaudio. again i dont know if your using a pc or mac. But if you are using a mac that might help explain the no asio option
