Best program for decoding mp3's into wavs/aiff!!!!

Post by Skrikin » Tue Jan 03, 2006 10:00 pm

I want to convert my mp3's into wavs/aiffs and was wondering if there is much difference between software for doing this..

What do you guys use, is there any difference between say itunes and adobe audition or bias......

Any recommendation or advice would be greatly appreciated as if i am paying for 320kb MP3's i don't want to loose any of the sound quality that might be still there making them even worse.....

I don't even know if this happens but i don't want to find out on a big rig.......
(if ya know what i mean)

Cheers.....

Live 5 does it for you...check your cache folder...also iTunes. Go into preferences, and you can convert MP3s to wavs/aifs...

My cache file just keeps growing and growing and it's eating away at my processing power by decoding all the time.....

ableton decodes and saves them in a cache file anyway so why don't i just do it from the start and save them as wavs or aiffs myself on an external hardrive...

I know the quality isn't the same as an original wav but i don't want to loose anymore of the quality and i can mess them up with less resources if they are a wav file.
