saving midi controller presets?

I just got Live and a controller, mostly for volume, eq, and similar controls. Is there a way to save the midi remote settings so that each time i start the program I don't have to do it all over again? I can't find anything in the manual about it.

open a fresh set. make all your midi assignments and then in the preferences, save this set as the default. then whenever you open a new live set, all your midi assignments will be there
