after loosing some two days time with ableton driven problems i ve made my first livesets ( and the last) with version 5. I m going back to 4 for sure.
these are the things which irritate me the most, anyone who can help me out will get a serious blowjob incl swallowing from me.
- wav file suddenly drops volume to zero in the middle of the track after rendering to disk
- when rendering in diffrent bit size OR diffrent sample rate ableton does render the whole file (yeaah!), but fucks the sound in some frequencies (completely)
- Today i found a first plugin suite that ACTUALLY WORKS with version 5 without problems..so far. the winner is: Powersuite 5 from wavearts, congratulations! (to wavearts)
- when trying to get back to ableton 4, all my earlier tracks are not warp marked anymore. the marks are gone.
- way too many "random crashes".
i work on PB 1.67 2 GB ram, w motu 828 mk2
Ableton 5 frustration :(

and drink som fruit juice is betr 4 u
1. i've been rendering in AIFF 16 bit 44.1k with no probs (maybe try that instead?)
2. this is a weird one... dunno... is that with the "hi" resolution sample rate conversion setting enabled for the clips ur trying to render?
3. most of my plugins work (som are buggy, but that's not necessarily ableton's fault!) i've used fish fillets, FM7, Reaktor 5, Arturia synths, almost all smartelectronix freebie plugins, microtonic, instaJungle... the list could go on for a while. Instead can i suggest u tell us (forum) which ones dont work for u, then might be able to help...
4. not sure about this one, cos i dont really warp that many clips.
5. i've not had that many "random" crashes with Live 503, i get one after scanning my plugins (?). But again, u need to be a bit more specific...
I'm running 10.3.9 (on PB G4 867), i know 10.4.3 has some issues with quite a few plugins (i know FM7 didnt work properly but i think NI have released an update).
Finally, just as a general osx audio maintenance tip... check this out:
http://emusician.com/mag/emusic_trackin ... index.html
I use "Onyx" regularly to make sure all OSX maintenance tasks are carried out. cos OSX only tries to do some of these at 4AM - when the computer is generally not turned on!
A bit of maintenance might fix those weird crashes...
just a suggestion, hope this helps!

i know all the ones u mention ableton are aware of...
they were mentioned in the during 503 beta development.
NI have released reaktor 5.1 which should fix some of the already known problems.
Pluggo - i have already notified ableton of this... i presume its a question of waitin + see wot C74 do (?)
but try som of them as VST, u might find they work betr.
it might be worth mentioning ur WAV+ sample rate rendering issue to Ableton support - i dunno if they are aware of this issue...
