what sound device are you using, what kind of computer? do you have a crt monitor?dav wrote:ya it gets recorded into the file. i even put a track onto CD to see if was just my speakers but it was still very clear. i have tried putting the levels on my mixer down low, pluging my guitar directly into my sound card but nothing works.
may be way off..........but............here goes.
Are you by any chance getting the "doubling" ick created by latency? If for any reason this is the case.........it will just SUCK. I have two options that kill the problem.
Turn the track off during record
or I have a separate mixer where it can be "post" only.
If this is not the case then ignore me.............

does it help when you play the guitar from a greater distance? i've heard similar problems getting solved by sitting not in the direct vicinity of your monitor. but i suppose the dell is a laptop? then it probably will be something else.
iirc, it only happened with single coil guitars.
